Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. She hosts the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up appearance, shares tips on how to cook restaurant-style dishes at home, using easy methods. Chef Burrell studied and worked in the best New York restaurants. He was also a part of Iron Chef America and the food scene of Italy. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up within New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. Her passion was for food and restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful experience. It was hard to study and do enough or put in the hours. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy she gained an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This has had a profound impact on the way she prepares her food. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to enhance living conditions for children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of the dangers of childhood diabetes. In her capacity as a speaker, she travels across the nation to speak about her passion for food as well as her career in the culinary field.
